Momma on the Go: No Heat Curls Hair Tutorial
Hello Mommas (and nonmommas)! Not everyone has an hour or two to prepare especially when our day is already occupied with family and work responsibilities.
I have had my medium length hair for roughly 3 years now, and I don’t think I will ever go back to long hair (or at least for now). Living in a tropical country and medium length hair are like best friends, they go well together. Medium length is easy to maintain, and it does not feel heavy.
I consider this hair as the “messy hair don’t care because it does not really have to be perfect. The more spontaneous, the better.
On to the tutorial:
Start of with damp hair. My hair has been very dry because of constant hair colouring. I apply leave-in conditioner everyday just to make it look less dry.
I’m basically using hair wax, particularly this one from Lucido-L Hair Wax to hold the curls. It neither look greasy nor feel heavy on the hair. Of all the products I have tried, this worked the best and it can easily be purchased in Watsons, Guardian, and even NTUC sells this product.
It has a very thick consistency and a little goes a long way. It doesn’t feel as greasy if applied with the right amount.
Take a small amount on the fingertips, rub hands together and apply it on the hair; concentrating on the lower half down to the ends.
Divide the hair in sections, twist and leave for about 3 minutes (depending on your hair type).
Voila! Messy curl don’t care! =)
Second option is to use bobbi pins. This will allow a more defined curls.
Twist the hair again by section, but this time, pin them and leave for about 5-10 minutes. If you have more time, you may do it longer. I do this in the morning and during waiting time, I am able to do some chores.
Remove the pins and do some retouch.
The curls shall stay the whole day if you don’t brush your hair and to retouch it, just do some twisting again. The hair wax shall stay whole day and no re-application is necessary (unless you think it is needed).
***Results may vary depending on the hair type.
Hope you guys enjoyed this, and please let me know if it worked for you =)
I have to make sure that I have really small sections and the curls are tight when I pin them because my hair is super thick! But it really does work! Great post, and you look amazing with those soft curls! – Kavi xx
Lovely post!
